If you can't make it to my talk on the Isle of Dogs in London on Saturday 22nd June, for London Rivers Week 2024, then don't worry - here it is, uploaded to RUclips. I hope you enjoy it. It's London Rivers Week 2024 from 22nd to 30th June. London Rivers Week is a week-long annual campaign inspiring the public to celebrate all of London’s rivers and the many projects taking place to protect them. This year’s theme is ‘London is a river city’, with a focus on health and well-being and cultural activities.

Mudlarking on the River Thames Reveals Intriguing Treasures Full of History and Mystery (April 2024)

In 1750 a dockyard worker dropped one of his belongings in the Thames mud. He was about to pick it up when someone called him over. By the time he went back to pick it up, the tide was coming in and it was lost in the Thames mud - where it stayed for almost 300 years. And then I found it! My favourite finds are those with names on and during this outing I was not disappointed. Come with me to s...

Hello! This is the first video of yours I have watched. I saw you on an episode of "Well, I Never", and I came to look you up. Watching your video was exciting and entertaining! I am from the U.S. and I find the Thames interesting, and holding so much immeasurable history! That alone would have made me come back for more, but once you were back inside the "findings" room, you gave a somewhat regular talk hoping everyone is doing well. But then you added the extra bit saying, you hope if we are not, that we will be soon, and feel free to drop a comment and someone may come along to respond, that is part of what this community is all about. And that felt so sincere and it really struck home with me, because I am not doing the best right right now. My wife and I are in the very early stages of divorce. We have been together for 15 years. It has only been 2 weeks to the day that we split. I certainly have my faults and share of the blame in this, she and I both do, but we are unable to see eye to eye about a major situation in our lives. There is no room for reconciliation on her end. I do not want us to be done. She did not make me, but I had to go, I just could not stay, that was hurting me even more. I moved out of our home only 5 days ago. My heart is breaking. I miss my wife so very much. I know things will get better, but knowing that and waiting for that to happen are two very different things and they are universes apart at the moment. I am not much for signs, but I am glad I found your channel. Thank you for the sincere, warm welcome.

My Grandmother who lived in the deep woods of Louisianna used to sew satin and slicky nylon robes, nighties, underthings and then quilts and pillows from the scraps. I loved anything that sparkled and glittered when i was little and she would let me raid her button tins. She had the most beautiful rhinestone buttons and the metal casings looked very much like the ones you found. Brought back sweet memories❤

French citizens are angry because 1 billion euros was spent to clean the Seine river to satisfy the Olympic committee request that the river water has to be clean to swim in. President Emmanuel Macron and Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo were going to swim in the river as an act of insurance. The plans were canceled because the angered were going to put e coli into the water in what I will only describe as a natural and organic communal experience .
